What does zafu mean? A zafu or putuan in Chinese is a round cushion commonly used in zen meditation. The Japanese Kanji characters for "za" and "fu" roughly translates to "seat of seeds", referring to the reedmace or buckwheat seeds traditionally used as the filler for the cushion.

This zafu from Chattra is hand-printed in a sky blue pattern using traditional wooden blocks, on heavy canvas, with lots of gorgeous detailing like contrast piping and zipper, decorative stitching, and a colourful tassel is inspired by those seen on the camels of Rajasthan’s great Thar Desert.
